An Internationally Viable Solution: Archaius Provides Protection, Detection, and Identification in Southeast Asia

Archaius demonstrated its modular, analog signal resilience solution against a high-power wideband jammer in Southeast Asia, where the threat of electronic warfare is rising.

Durham, North Carolina – August 2026 – Building on its operational validation in Ukraine, Archaius has validated its Grale electronic protection module inside a live electromagnetic warfare environment and built partnerships with the drone operators and manufacturers redefining modern warfare. Ukraine has shown the world that the forces that quickly identify and maintain operations through contested environments win the fight; Grale provides warfighters with that advantage. 

Archaius has built on that work in Southeast Asia, demonstrating Grale’s signals assurance capabilities to a country seeking to protect its critical infrastructure from regional jamming threats. In a live demonstration at a closed military facility, two drones with identical flight profiles flew against a high-power wideband jamming system – which targets the entire 2.4 GHz band rather than a single channel. This system defeats standard frequency-hopping spread spectrum techniques, and widens the effective denial radius well beyond standard engagement distances. 

One drone was equipped with Grale, while the other flew unprotected; the only difference between them ensured the outcome. The unprotected platform lost its command-and-control link and crashed near the jammer. The Grale-equipped platform flew directly through the jamming zone and completed the mission. The drone’s C2 link remained stable from start to finish, as Grale detected the wideband interference and cancelled it in real-time upon entering the jamming zone. 


How does Archaius' electronic protection technology work? 

Archaius's electronic protection modules are autonomous by design, providing detection, cancellation, and geolocation at the hardware level in real-time with no operator input. Grale's built-in emission direction-finding logged the jammer's position throughout the flight, delivering mission continuity and threat awareness at once. Post-flight telemetry confirmed jammer detection in the geolocation logs – and, critically, zero receiver-loss events, enabling an uninterrupted mission. 

The demonstration also highlighted Grale's platform-agnostic integration and portability across platforms and operating environments. Faced with a climate, landscape, and jammer that each place extreme stress on RF systems – entirely different conditions than those encountered in Ukraine – Grale's performance, and therefore the C2 link, never faltered. 


Why is Southeast Asia a critical operational theater? 

Tensions have risen steadily across the Indo-Pacific, and many countries are adapting to the style of modern warfare defined in Ukraine. Military and commercial assets alike now need signal resilience against electronic warfare. With hostile interference incidents rising across the region, demonstrating in Southeast Asia enabled Archaius to validate Grale against a different contested terrain and jammer class. 

Southeast Asia's terrain degrades communications and navigation on its own. Dense vegetation, terrain, multipath propagation, and environmental conditions can further complicate RF propagation and connectivity before an adversary ever turns on a jammer. 

As interference is turned against communications and positioning systems, electromagnetic resilience is becoming a requirement across the region's defense, infrastructure, and commercial markets. 


How is electronic warfare shaping operations worldwide? 

Even the world’s mightiest militaries are reconciling traditional best-practice defense postures with the strategic lessons emerging from Ukraine. Leaders point to the increased denial of supporting capabilities such as command-and-control, as well as the proliferation of cheap, expendable weapons systems. Ukraine has become one of the clearest demonstrations of the scale at which unmanned systems and control of the electromagnetic spectrum can shape tactical outcomes, and it is widely viewed as an indicator of what is yet to come. 

Electronic warfare is already disrupting critical economic and national security functions, from financial timing systems to commercial shipping. The world’s most critical chokepoints have seen a rise in jamming used to block trade. Similarly critical chokepoints exist across Southeast Asia, creating vulnerabilities where jamming and spoofing could cause mass disruption in a future crisis.
